Listening to the needs of parents and kids who wanted
specialty programs, RMA Karate Centres is now taking registration for two new
programs specific for young kids and one of these programs is offering a free
first class. Both programs running out of RMA’s Barrie south location are
extremely affordable with a low fee of only $15 per month and are pay as you go
with no long term commitments.
World Karate and Kickboxing Champion Tressa Young will be
offering a free kids kickboxing class on Tuesday September 15th. The
class runs for 40 minutes (6:15pm to 6:55pm) and is for ages 7 to 12 years
old. Unlike a cardio kickboxing class kids will be
kicking & punching bags and working with partners all the while having fun
while getting fit. No experience is needed and anyone interested in
continuing after the first free class can sign-up that night for a full month
of lessons at only $15 pay-as-you-go.
Yoga Instructor Jessica Harvey will be instructing a girls
only Yoga program for ages 8 to 17 with classes running every Tuesday 5:45pm to
6:15pm. The
girls only yoga program is open to all levels and all body types with
absolutely no experience needed. Classes start Tuesday September 15th
with registration required and fee of only $15 for a full month of lessons.
“There
is a need for both of these programs and a need for these programs to be
assessable to everyone at an affordable price. The girls only Yoga makes
sense and Jessica is a great role model and instructor for the girls. She
held a free trial class recently and the group of girls who took part in the
yoga class just loved it. My kids kickboxing class is an extension of my
adult kickboxing class and just made sense. We use bags, mitts, gloves
and everyone loves it. I’ve already started taking several registrations
for the free class and I’m excited to teach it. We have a good mix of
both boys and girls for the kids kickboxing and I can’t wait for September 15th
“, RMA owner and instructor Tressa Young.
Young’s
resume in the martial arts is extensive including winning 64 world medals (37
of which are gold) at the World Karate & Kickboxing Commission’s world
championships that have been held in Europe and North America. Young has
been on the national team 10 times and continues to grow her resume that
includes stunt performing and acting.
