Seven martial artists from RMA Karate Centres took part in the World Karate & Kickboxing Commission (WKC) Ontario provincial trials on April 5th in London, Ontario.  The WKC provincial trials is a black belt competition but is open to martial artists of any belt level who wish try to secure their spot at the national team trials.  Each martial artist must make top 8 in their respective divisions in order to advance to the Canadian national team trials next month in Ottawa.

Wushu students Eden McGuire and Arianna Nicholson competed for the very first time at the provincial trials and impressed the judges with their skill.  McGuire won gold in the 13 to 15 girl’s Chinese forms and Nicholson won silver in the 12 years & under girls Chinese forms.

All seven are headed to Ottawa in May for the WKC Canadian National team trials where they will  hope to secure top four placement in their divisions to make the national team.  Only those who make top four in their divisions will be part of the national karate team and travel to Dublin, Ireland for the WKC World Karate Championships this October.
